New Car, Illnesses, and a check-up

Well, it has been a whirlwind of a month. February has passed with not a few hiccups. The month started with Justin's accident on the 2nd and illnesses the rest of that week. The following week, I came down with what the girls had. The week after that I developed what I think was a cold, but it knocked me off my feet. I was not doing well for that whole week and for a bit the next week too. The residual sore throat and cough that doesn't seem to want to go away. It has been a bit of a headache.

Luckily the girls recovered from their illnesses and Collin didn't get it too bad. Even though Collin didn't get to sick, what he did et sounded like it settles in his chest and it worried me a little. So I took him in to the doc for his 9 month check up a little early. Turned out he is fine. His measurements are: 19 pounds 4 ounces, and 28 inches long. He is doing well and growing well. He has started really discovering movement. Aside from his constant rolling to get ANYWHERE he wants to, he has started figuring out the army crawl. There is no stopping him. He has made it onto the tile once or twice and actually doesn't mind it. He laid his cheek down on the floor and stayed like that for a couple seconds. It was pretty funny. He has also cut his second tooth now. He is sitting like a champ and actually really enjoys standing up against the couch and anything else we can stand him up against. He is discovering a whole new world around him and it is one of my favorite things to see!

Last weekend, Justin flew out Saturday night to Vegas and drove our new car back from Vegas. We were fortunate enough to buy a 2006 Hyundai Elantra off the auction in Vegas. If you need a new car, you should check out Mike's Auto Shack. This guy is amazing! He goes to auctions for his customers and gets them the car they wants at the price they say they want it at. It was a super easy process and even Justin flying out and driving back it was cheaper than anything decent that we could have gotten here in Lubbock!

Well that is an update for ya, we are all doing well and enjoying things here in Lubbock. Justin just finished his psychiatry (or as I like to call it suckiatry---Sorry...but he really didn't like it!) He is starting in OB/Gyn tomorrow and is looking forward to it. THough he has seen 3 babies born, he has never been able to deliver one, and he is really excited about that. It will be an interesting 8 weeks. I can't wait to here how he enjoys it!

Lastly, we are looking at the possibility of being in Utah for the month of (or most of the month of) August. We won't know for sure until May, but Justin is hoping to do an away rotation at the University of Utah. If we do make it out, we are trying to work out living arrangements that are cheap...So if anyone has a house they need a house sitter for in August in Salt Lake, or knows of someone who might, we could use some help finding something. We all want to come so hopefully we can make it all work out! Anyway, let us know!
