Our Easter Sunday was a bit different this year. Justin got the short end of the stick on his ob/gyn rotation this month and was the one that got 'stuck' working on Easter. so I had to get the kids dressed, hair done, fed, to church, home from church, fed lunch, down for naps and ready to go to dinner as soon as Justin got off, all by myself...On top of that, I had to make a couple of things for our dinner with the Reed's, plus I had to teach the Relief Society lesson at church.
Yes, it was a hectic day, but on to better things.
On Friday night the kids and I went out to the insanity that was the Egg Drop of Lubbock done by one of the churches here in town. While it was fun, it was extremely crowded and scary. The girls each got 2 eggs from the 50,000 on the football field and then jumped in the bouncers they had there, and then we went for a nice visit with our friends the Dicken's who live down the street from the field.
On Saturday, Justin got off work at 8am. He came home and decided to wait until nap time to sleep, so I took Collin and went to the store for a while. On Friday night while I was working on the zipper for Felicity's easter dress, I managed to snap the needle and had no replacements. So, I ran to Wal-Mart, got the needle along with all the groceries that I needed for Easter and then got the girls some shoes at Payless. I came home and did the zipper (hidden zipper by the way---it totally rocks!), then made all of Jaicie's dress. I had the hems on both to do when dinner rolled around. We had dinner, then I had a bunch of other things to work on, which I finally finished, along with the dress hems about 11:30. Then I was finally able to take a shower and go to bed.
When we got out of bed, barely alive, at 6:45 the Easter bunny had arrived. To make an even longer story a little shorter--the kids loved their easter basket filled with mostly toys, I didn't want the candy in the house. Then Justin left for work where he delivered one baby on his own, and a whole bunch of others with the residents...The kids and I all got ready for church and went. They were all surprisingly well behaved considering Justin was gone. My lesson went well on keeping peace and harmony in our lives. Thanks to the relief society president, I didn't even have to worry about Collin during the lesson. We had an amazing dinner with Ryan and Catlin Reed, our good friends who are leaving us soon (why do they always do that?!) and ate far too much food.
The weekend was wonderful. Did I mention that it was Thursday night when I decided to make the girls easter dresses. They picked out the fabric themselves, convenient that it was coordinating. I guess it helped that I stood them in front of some fabrics I liked , but still there were stripes and solids and polka dots to choose from. Anyway, here are the pics of the girls dresses:

Collin was not fortunate enough this year for me to be lucky enough to find him an outfit to wear for Easter, but he looked cute anyhow...I just forgot to get pictures!
And here is a slideshow of all the pictures that we took for Easter:
