New Pictures to Share

Pictures 8/23/08

We got some new pictures done last week. And we wanted to share them with everyone! These were taken by Gaylene Erwin. She did an amazing job and I can't compliment her enough! Take a look at these pictures. There is a slideshow, but feel free to also select the link and take a look at them. Click the stack of pictures at the top and you can go to the album. Or the slideshow is here! Enjoy!

By the way, if you are ever able to get pictures done by Gaylene, you really should. They are amazing and she does an amazing job. She is in Lubbock now, but we are saddened that she is moving in October sometime...

Felicity

I felt like Felicity got left out of the blogs today. I made one about Jaicie's first day, and I made one about Collin, but I didn't make one about Felicity. So here it is!

Felicity is a sweet heart. She seems to be getting Collin's cold as well. She has developed a slight fever, but she doesn't act sick at all. Right now she is watching The Chipmunk Adventure. One of my favorite movies when I was little. She has learned to identify all of her letters. And recently has taken to writing them on the walls. (ARGH) But that is conversation for another day. She writes her F's really well, although backwards. She also writes l and I and e fairly well. She continues to branch out with her letters, and hopefully over the next year will learn to write the rest of them too! She misses her sister. And that makes me sad. I am sure she will enjoy being with her brother, but right now he just sleeps so much, especially today while he is sick!

Anyway, Felicity is my baby doll. She makes me smile (as do all of my children) She is very much a middle child! Her potty training is getting better again. Hopefully she will have no more problems!

I love you Felicity! Oh, by the way, she dressed herself today!

Bathroom Leaks

So, last night we discovered a leak coming from our bathroom. We are not entirely sure how long it has been going on, but it has obviously been a while. We had some stuff stacked up outside of the bathroom door (in our bedroom) and when we moved it to check the floor, there was mold on the bottom of it and everything was wet. The wet spot just appeared outside the door yesterday. I had never noticed the floor wet at all before that. I called the property management and they are supposed to get it fixed quickly. I am a little worried though that they are going to have to replace the carpet and tile in the bathroom because the water, it seems, is leaking from the toilet under the tile and out the bathroom door. There isn't any water except right around the base of the toilet and outside the door. That would take us out a bedroom and the bathroom. While our place is fairly large, there isn't much room anywhere else to put us. It is a little frustrating. But I certainly don't want to live in a room with moldy carpets! It is so gross! Anyway, here is a picture!

Collin Aug 2008

Collin is growing up so fast.

He will be 3 months the end of next week, and is developing so well. He has gained really good head control and seems to have pretty strong legs. He even slept through the night Saturday night. He has developed a little bit of a cold and so last night he woke up when he wasn't feeling well, but I gave him some Tylenol for his fever and he went right back to sleep. He seems to be doing better this morning. So hopefully the cold won't last much longer. I guess we will see.

First Day of School

Today is the first day of school. My alarm went off off at 6:45 and I got up and got dressed. at 6:46, Jaicie walked out of her room and said, MOM, I woke up at 6:46 (I had told her I would be getting her up at 6:45). She was carrying all her clothes that she was going to wear today. She went into the bathroom and got dressed and then just wanted to leave. Justin gave her a father's blessing and then we brushed her hair and got all ready to go. Jaicie was the first one out the door and into the car. She had her backpack and her lunch box and wanted to get to school.

We got there and she tried running off and not waiting for us. She walked into her classroom and walked straight to her locker, put her things in and then went and sat down at her desk. She wanted us to leave, she was ready to start kindergarten.

I was determined that I wasn't going to be one of 'those' moms. You know the ones that cry when they drop the child off at school. Why cry, I have one less child at home most of the day and will have a little less stress during the day...Well, as we walked out of her classroom, leaving her there, I did cry. I stopped it quickly because despite the fact that I was one of 'those' moms, i still didn't want to. After all Justin would have laughed at me if he had noticed!

Her school had a kindergarten blast off in the library afterwards. ON the doors into the school, there were signs that said "Attention Kindergarten Parents, please join us in the library after you drop your child off for some tissues, donuts, juice and coffee." It seems that they have seen kindergarten parents before on the first day of school.

Jaicie is so excited and I am excited for her. She is looking forward to the school year and so far really likes her teacher! Mrs. Mendoza is really nice and seems to work well with the kids. I think that I have placed our child in good hands!

As of right now, I am doing alright. It is wierd to have her gone now. As we were walking out of the school, Felicity looked up at me and said "mom, I already miss Jaicie" That about made me cry all over again. She seems to be doing better now. She is enjoying playhouse disney. I guess we will see how the rest of the day goes.

Singing in the Rain

Last night, Jaicie had her friend over for a sleep over. Her first sleep over in our house. And let me tell you it was crazy! The three girls went to bed at 8:30. At 9:30 Felicity crashed. and then from then until 11:30 Jaicie and Whitney had quite the fun time, chatting and playing. When they finally fell asleep at 11:30, I was surprised and a little in shock. NO matter how often we told them to go to sleep, they would not listen. I guess that is what you get for putting two girls that age, in the same room with each other!

Anyway, to get to the slideshow, this morning, it started raining and they all got dressed, all on their own and went outside and played in the rain. they had a blast and came in wet! It was fun!Anyway, they had a fun time!

Collin Updates and Other Random comments

Well, we took Collin in for his 2 month check up--I still can't believe that he is 2 months old already! Man times have flown by!

So, Collin is now two months old. He is healthy and doing really well. His stats are:

Weight: 12 pounds 1 ounce
Length: 22 1/2 inches

The doctor said that he was doing very well. He is eating well, sleeping well and apparently we are doing well as his parents!

Felicity is having a great life. She is wearing her School of Medicine shirt that the alliance officers and I reently designed. It is really cute!

Jaicie is doing well She starts school in 20 days! And yes I am definitely counting down the days! Today she got woken up by her crying brother. She promptly sat down on the floor and fell asleep. Only waking up because Collin who was laying on the floor next to her kicked her. It was pretty funny!
