So as you can see from my last blog, today was my mom's birthday. The girls like to celebrate birthdays. So they convinced me to find a recipe for a homemade cake and icing and make mo a birthday cake. They wouldn't accept that I didn't have a cake mix...so I searched Allrecipes and found a scratch cake recipe (The White cake variation) and then searched and found a recipe for icing (we did half butter, half shortening, and used regular brown Vanilla) and together the girls and I made a cake.
They stayed up past their bedtime in order to blow out the candles and enjoy a small piece of cake.
So with that, Happy Birthday Again Mom! We all love you, and it looks like we will be having a yearly birthday party in your honor! Here are the pics of the cake! As a side note, this was one of the best cakes I have ever eaten. I have never made a cake from scratch, and this one was amazing! You should definitely try it if you like cakes! It is a handy recipe that has multiple variations for different kinds of cakes!

Happy Birthday
Today is my mom's birthday. While I can't tell her myself, I want everyone to know that I wish my mom a very Happy Birthday. It is crazy how you can miss a person more everyday that passes. You think it would get easier, but alas, I miss her more today, than I did yesterday.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM! We are going to celebrate in your honor!
I thought it would be pretty great if mom and our little boy shared a birthday...but unfortunately, I will have to give that hope up, as he has not given any sign of joining us today!
Happy Birthday anyway mom!

36 Weeks, and counting
So tomorrow I hit 36 weeks. Officially this baby will no longer be Pre-mature if he arrives. I am okay with whenever he arrives, and I am so ready to not be pregnant anymore! But yes I do understand that the longer he stays in the better...I am just so tired of the being uncomfortable, pains, contractions, Nausea (that just reset in this week) and sleepless nights. At least when the baby arrives and you have to wake up there is a reason you are getting up. I just wake up and can't go back to sleep all night long! So, I am really looking forward to not being pregnant.
Jaicie arrived 1 week early and Felicity arrived 2 weeks early...So maybe this one will arrive 3 weeks early...the doc joked about that last week. I guess we will see when he actually arrives. With Felicity, we went to a church meeting and then went into labor at midnight that night. Tonight we do have a church meeting...
HAha..>I guess since I just said it, it won't happen, but that is okay. I will learn patience better this way right? At least we are ready whenever he does come. We have diapers, wipes, formula, bottles, blankets and clothes, and his bed is all set up, so we are ready to go! My hospital bag is packed and ready to go with cameras packed in it. We have people lined up to call to stay with the girls as soon as we need someone too...so the time is coming and we are ready...whenever little Collin decides to join our family, we are ready. It is still hard for me to believe that we are having a little boy any time..WOW!
Anyway, Here are some pictures that some friends took with me. Jessica and Bridgette came in for a short visit and took some pictures of my belly. I am actually smaller this time around then I was with the girls, So I guess we will see how big he is! Anyway, here are the pictures!

Great New Find
So, I cam across this website recently and I think I love it. I haven't tried it yet, but I think that it might be worth trying and doing! It is through Kraft Foods and the way it works is this:
You go to the website and choose one of the combination. They have chicken and Beef, chicken and Pork and Chicken and Seafood, and healthy meals. THen you choose which set of that combination you want. Then you pull up a PDF File that has the meals, the recipes and a shopping list for everything you need. It tells you what you need to buy in order to make the meals and what you should have on hand. The list of meals for the week also has ideas for sides. Those are not included in the PDF File, but can easily be added to the shopping list. I am going to try this for the next week of food I have to buy. I have a couple more meals to go through before I do it, but I will let you all know how it goes. It seems like it would make it so easy to decide meals and there are a pretty good variety too! Anyway, I thought I would share my find. Let me know if you try it and what you think!
You can find the website here:

Emotional Weekend
I sense that it will be a very emotional weekend. This is actually the third mother's day since my mom passed away. The first mothers day was the hardest. I dreaded the thought of mother's day. Justin gave me this beautiful picture frame full of pictures of me with my mom. I cried a lot that weekend, but Justin helped me through it.
The second mothers day was my first in Texas, a thousand miles away from Las Vegas and while it wasn't as difficult or as emotional, it was a very difficult time. Justin made me this beautiful video about my mom.

Again, it made things a little bit easier for me. Justin seems to have a knack for doing that!
While I imagine this year will be easier on me, it is starting already. I am constantly thinking about my mom and missing her and wishing I could talk to her. I think the weekend is going to be emotional. But that is okay. Because I know mom is watching over me. And my daughters have their mom to celebrate with. So the tears may come and the emotions may be strong, but all in all, I think that it will be a good day.
On the plus side of things, I am now 34 weeks along. Justin finished his second year of medical school today--that means he is halfway done! My house is almost clean and I don't hurt nearly as bad as I have in the past few weeks...
So here is to another mother's day, getting closer to Collin's birth (4 weeks max I am thinking), Justin being halfway done with school and an almost clean house.
